The Incubator

Service? JUST service? Absolutely! In 1985, PGS Companies was started for that reason. On a cold January morning in an extra bedroom of our founder’s first house, with a folding table as a desk and the bed behind him serving as his credenza, the company was born from an unswerving determination to provide a unique brand of service.

While outgrowing it’s first two facilities, the company’s efforts to develop four distinct product segments began to pay off. Later, these segments were formally recognized as independent divisions and operated as such for some time. Eventually, all four were moved into this building but, by 2008, this facililty was already buldging from divisional growth and acquisitions. During that same year, the Board Of Directors of our holding company, ordered the conversion of the four divisions into independent LLC’s in order to preserve the specialization versus generalization service style that PGS Companies is known for. Equally as important, are the opportunities the new structure would provide, for key employees to own part of the company.

One of the divisions-turned-LLC is the non-HVAC OEM group, now called PGS Paragon. It moved from “The Incubator” in December of 2008, to create a little more space for both companies. Being a “sister” of companies that manufacture, foam rubber, gaskets and non-fiberglass insulations and metal goods including machined parts, weldments, and assemblies allows us access a broad array of products that we can provide into a cost-effective bundle. The intra-company cooperation we enjoy is invisible to you but can be a significant value. PGS Paragon and our sister companies continue to work closely to help each other serve you through new and established principles and objectives that we have built over the past 25 years.
